J-6ix (born Jarred Jacobs) is a hip-hop, alternative R&B South African multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter. He was born into a musical family and had developed a passion for playing instruments, such as the bass and electric guitar, the keys and drums. He picked up producing in 2011 using GarageBand on his dad’s iPad. His passion for music only grew even stronger since then and has released a plethora of instrumentals. His frequent collaborators include Yolophonik, Lostboy, Tsukudu and Solo Sae. He has produced tracks for Blxckie, The Big Hash, Flvme, Marcus Harvey and several upcoming acts from other countries. His musical influences include Monte Booker, Thundercat, Robert Glasper, KAYTRANADA, Kaelin Ellis and Herc Cut The Lights.
