Izzy Bizu is a British singer-songwriter.
Born in 1994 as Isobel Beardshaw in southwest London, she grew up listening to jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and James Brown. After a stint in the short-lived girl group Soundgirl, she began recording material for a solo project with writer Mika Barroux. The resulting EP, Coolbeanz, was released in September 2013 and featured an early version of her breakthrough single, “White Tiger.”
After signing to Sony Music shortly after, she released a string of singles including “Diamond”, “Adam & Eve” and “Give Me Love” in 2015 alongside a supporting gig for labelmate Foxes. Her UK top 30 debut album, A Moment of Madness, followed in September 2016.
Bizu took an extended hiatus to work on new material following the album release. Eventually returning with the single “Lights On”, she released the Glita EP in May. “Faded” followed in May 2020 as the lead single from her upcoming second studio album.
