Ivan Akulov was born into an artistic family on January 26, 1985, in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. At the age of four, he began taking solfeggio lessons and playing the recorder. Later, he enrolled in the “Sergei Rachmaninoff” Secondary Music School for Gifted Children. During his studies, he won awards at numerous international competitions across Europe.
After completing two specializations at the Music Academy (rock and pop-jazz singing), Ivan Akulov earned a master’s degree in singing. At the beginning of 2017, he came to Serbia to record a song with Maja Odžaklievska and won the “Ohrid Fest – Ohrid Troubadours” festival in 2017 with the composition Odlazi.
Ivan’s composition Wild Soul, performed by Cristina Scarlat, represented the Republic of Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. He also participated in the Romanian and Russian national selections for Eurovision, achieving notable results.
