While Isham Jones (1894-1956) did not enjoy the renown of other Tin Pan Alley composers of his time, some of his songs have held up just as well as theirs. Born in Ohio, he started his first band in Saginaw, Mich. and received his first big break at the age of 23, when he wrote “You’re in the Army Now” for America’s entry into World War I. He enjoyed great success as a bandleader and saxophonist, but he’s chiefly known now for composing songs such as “It Had to Be You” and “I’ll See You in My Dreams.”
The most popular song by Isham Jones's is Pardon My Southern Accent
Isham Jones's first song Swingin’ Down The Lane released on Thu Jan 01 1970.
