About InnerPartySystem

Innerpartysystem was an electronic rock band that was active from early 2006 to August of 2011. Their frontman, Patrick Nissley, has gone on to write songs for other people, including pennybirdrabbit. Jared Piccone has gone on to do A&R work and produce songs under the stage name Spacebrother, and Kris “Wuki” Barman has released high-profile songs and remixes on labels such as Skrillex’s OWSLA.

Their name is derived from a term used in the novel 1984 by George Orwell:

“In George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four social classes were defined as the inner party, outer party, and the working class. It sounds really "holier than thou” when you say it, we’re really not this full of ourselves, but we liked the idea of creating this full, multimedia, over-stimulating, elitist environment that we were trying to invite everyone into. It’s the ironic elitist class."
