Considered one of the greatest drummers of all time, Ian Paice (Born 1948) is an English Drummer best known for being in the English rock band Deep Purple.
Paice first started drumming at age 15 and the first band he played in was Georgie & the Rave-Ons. He played in one single released by them after they changed their names to The Shindigs. In 1968 Paice joined the band The M15 which changed its name to The Maze. It is in this band the Paice met Rod Evans. Paice and Evans then formed Deep Purple. Deep Purple broke up in 1976 and Paice joined the rock band Whitesnake and played with them until 1982, releasing three albums with them.
Paice rejoined Deep Purple in 1984 and has been playing with them since.
