About Hugh Padgham

Hugh Padgham was a famous producer in the 80s, mostly famous for producing Phil Collins, Genesis, The Police and Peter Gabriel’s albums. It is also known that he helped create the infamous “gated reverb”/“isolated drums”, during the recording Peter Gabriel’s 3rd solo album nicknamed “Melt”. Phil Collins was playing the drums for Gabriel who was also his former band mate in Genesis. Collins used the same sound in his 1981 first track of his debut album and as well as the lead single titled “In the Air Tonight” which is regarded as Collins' most famous and best song out of his solo career. As of now Padgham is currently not producing records at the moment but he isn’t retired. He currently lives in Chiswick, West London with his wife and daughter.
