Huey Briss was born Bryant Lamar Looney II, growng up in Grace Park, Long Beach, California.
Briss dropped his debut Ash lightly in 2014, and has since released two mixtapes with producer Nikobeats in the past two years.

Briss' name is a play on the greek word ‘Hubris’, meaning excessive pride or self-confidence. Briss says the name is partly ironic. “I do deal with pride, but I really don’t. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get it done.”
