About $hizz 267

$hizz 267 (born Tyshawn Nasim Valentine on May 30, 2000) is a Public Figure & former HS Basketball Prospect from North Philadelphia, raised on the 1400 block of North Marshall Street—an area known locally as “Double M” or 6MM.

PRONOUNCED: 6…7 Double M
(It is the block he’s from & one of his tattoos)

His work blends music, digital media, culinary arts, and personal testimony to preserve stories of survival, memory, and the realities of those often erased by systemic neglect and street violence.

Early Life & Medical History

Valentine was born with a life-threatening heart defect, Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), which required emergency surgery shortly after his first birthday. Doctors told his family to “pray he lived long enough” to undergo the procedure. The successful surgery, against all odds, became a foundational part of his identity—instilling a deep awareness of mortality and purpose from an early age. He also suffers from slight dyslexia.

Education, Mental Health & Displacement

He attended James R. Ludlow Elementary, graduating in 2013, and was later accepted into Building 21, a newly launched experimental high school. A fight and increasing family tension—especially with his father—led to inpatient mental health admissions at Horsham Clinic and Belmont Behavioral Hospital, where he was diagnosed with ADHD.

Though later deemed possibly misdiagnosed, the side effects of the prescribed medication negatively affected his mood, clarity, and emotional regulation. The system did not provide healing—only confusion. He eventually transferred to World Communications Charter, where he was suspended again. Around this time, he helped form a nonviolent peer collective called Darkside—a group built on survival, loyalty, and shared creativity.

Family Mentorship & Move to Georgia

In his early teens, Valentine relocated to Georgia, living with his grandfather (a former jazz musician and chef) and step-grandmother.

Tyshawn played Basketball for Building 21 (2015),WCCS (2016), Job Corps (2016-17) & Woodstock High School (2017) during this time period as well but due to his behavior & grades he wasn’t able to continue playing he also suffered a few really bad injuries.

There, he connected with three key figures:

William Kendrick Randall
(SliccTheProducer): His uncle and mentor, who introduced him to cooking, music, and business discipline.

Derrick Barnes (Lou Hefner / FaceDaGoon): A creatively driven uncle with roots in both Georgia and Philly.

Jamesly Baptiste: A close friend and creative collaborator.

In 2017, Valentine experienced the devastating loss of Slicc, who lost his life at age 23 in a violent incident in Canton, Georgia. That event, which also involved Baptiste and others, marked a turning point in his emotional life and creative motivation.

Street Life, Violence & Survival (2017–2022)

Living in a Group Home on 58th & Thomas-Whitby in Philly at the time, after Slicc’s death, Valentine found himself disconnected and directionless. Between 2017 and 2022, he operated as a low-level marijuana dealer and corner boy—not out of criminal ambition, but out of emotional dislocation and environmental necessity.

He survived multiple incidents during this period:

On December 19, 2018, at 11:45 PM, he was grazed in the leg by gunfire.

In 2022, he was again grazed—this time in the neck and hand during another incident.

Around 2017-2019, he was shot in the face by one of his old friends while playing around with a BB gun with metal pellets, there is still a piece of bullet stuck in the bridge of his nose til this day, from the incident.

These injuries, paired with the losses of friends and community members, reinforced his purpose: to document what others ignore and preserve what others forget.

Legal Challenges

In February 2021, Valentine was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, and defiant trespass in an incident on Moreland Road in Willow Grove, PA.

A local article misreported his origin as Eighth Street, but it was later corrected—he is from Marshall Street, between 6th and 7th, not 8th.

Details about sentencing or probation status remain private.

Culinary Training & Career Progression

Despite legal and street challenges, Valentine earned his GED and began working at McDonald’s (Broad & Diamond and Front & Girard).

He joined Mural Arts Philadelphia, and in 2023 enrolled in UNITE HERE’s culinary training program—earning multiple certifications along the way, including ServSafe and Always Food Safe.

He also trained at Philadelphia Job Corps and Woodland Job Corps (Baltimore), where he advanced his culinary education serving the Department of Labor in Washington D.C and worked briefly alongside celebrity chef Kia Denise in catering.

Music Career & Artistry

Although frequently labeled a rapper, $hizz 267 considers himself more of a documentarian, not an entertainer.

He also met Teefy Bey at D4$ studios in south Philly before.

He used to go to school with a lot of people who are now and used to be prominent figures in the hip hop community.

Digital Platform: @PhillyHallOfFame

In 2022, he launched @phillyhalloffame, a coded Instagram archive built to spotlight underground talent across Philadelphia, New York, Georgia, Baltimore, Chicago, and more.

The page gained traction after reposting a Yak Yola freestyle that ended up going viral on $hizz 267 page—recognized as a turning point in the city’s drill scene.
