About ヒトリエ (hitorie)

Hitorie (ヒトリエ) is a Japanese rock band signed to Hinichijou Records. The band was put together by wowaka, a Vocaloid producer in 2011 who also became the lead vocal and guitarist of the band, with Ygarashy on bass, and Yumao on the drum as hitori atorie (ひとりアトリエ). After Shinoda joined in 2012, the band changed their name into the current name, in which Shinoda became the chorus and guitarist.

After actively playing live shows and production, they released their first mini album, Roomsick Girls Escape in December 2012 and their first EP, non-fiction four e.p.

They made their major-label debut under their own record label, Hinichijou Records (under Sony Music Japan), in November 2013. Their first major single Senseless Wonder was released in January 2014, followed by the mini album Imaginary Monofiction in February 2014. The first full-length album WONDER and WONDER was then released in November 2014.

In 2015, hitorie released another mini-album titled Monochrome Entrance in July, followed by the second single, Shatter Doll and a compilation album of Roomsick Girls Escape/non-fiction four e.p in November.

Starting off the year 2016, they released the single “One Me Two Hearts” in January, which used as the opening theme song of the anime Divine Gate. They also released their second full-length album, DEEPER in February 2016. They strived even more by releasing the third full-length album, IKI in December 2016.

Meanwhile, wowaka released Unknown Mother Goose which included in Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Re:Start compilation album, marking his first vocaloid song since six years. Hitorie’s version was released as a surprise in October 2017. The mini album Ai/Solate was released in December 2017.

In November 2018, they released the single Polaris where the lead track of the same name is used as the 7th ending theme song of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Three months apart, they released the fourth full-length album, HOWLS in February 2019.

In April 2019, it was reported that wowaka has died from acute heart failure. Hitorie then held a tribute concert named wowaka追悼 於 新木場STUDIO COAST (wowaka tribute at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST) in June 2019. On the tribute concert, Shinoda was appointed to succeeding wowaka as the lead vocalist. One year after the concert, hitorie released their best songs' compilation album titled 4, in August 2020.

Under Shinoda’s lead, hitorie continued to release more single/albums, such as Reamp in (Feb 2021) and Pharmacy (Jun 2022). Including the tracks “3分29秒 (3 min 29 sec),” which served as the opening theme song for 86 Eighty-Six anime, and “風、花 (Kaze, Hana),” which served as the ending theme song for Dance Dance Danseur.
