Harpo Marx (1888-1964) was born with the first name of Adolph, but legally changed it to “Arthur” because he didn’t like it. As part of his brothers' comedy act, he famously never said a word, instead communicating by pantomime or whistling. He was nicknamed “Harpo” because of his propensity for playing the harp. He was self-taught on the instrument, and his unorthodox techniques fascinated classically trained harpists.
Harpo Marx's first song Everyone Says I Love You released on Thu Jan 01 1970.
