Harold Ray Brown (or just Harold Brown), born March 17, 1946 in Long Beach, California, is an American drummer, percussionist, vocalist and songwriter. Best known as one of the founding members of the band “War”. Brown left the band to attend college in 1983, majoring in computer science.
In the 1990’s Brown gathered the other remaining living members of “War”, “Lee Oskar”, “Howard Scott”, to start performing again. But they lost the right in federal court to use and tour under the name “War” against their former manager “Jerry Goldstein”, and the fourth old founding member “Lonnie Jordan” was afterwards touring using the name “War”. Brown, Oskar and Scott then used the name “Lowrider Band”.
