Harmonix is an American musical video game studio based in Boston, Massachusetts. The company was established in May 1995 by Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy. Harmonix is best-known for developing music video games, such the first two “Guitar Hero” games (including its spinoff “Rocks the 80s”), the entire “Rock Band” and “Dance Central” series, and “Fortnite Festival”.
The studio was acquired by MTV Networks in 2006, only to be spun off in 2010.
In 2021, Harmonix was acquired by Epic Games.
