Hans Jürgen Kürsch (born in Lank-Latum, Germany on August 10th, 1966) better known as Hansi Kürsch, is a German singer, songwriter, and former bass guitarist. He is best known as a co-founder of the speed/power metal band Blind Guardian.

Kürsch discovered his passion for music and classic rock bands such as the Electric Light Orchestra, Genesis, and Queen when he was ten. The turning point for him was coming across Deep Purple’s 24 Carat Purple for the first time, which introduced him to bands like The Who, Led Zeppelin, and many others.

He has been the lead vocalist for Blind Guardian since 1984 and also acted as a bass player until 1996. Hansi was also the vocalist of Demons & Wizards, a side-project with Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer. He has also worked as a guest with many other artists, including Angra, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth, and Iron Saviour.
