About Haneri

Formerly known as Daphne Khoo, Haneri is a pop artist based in LA & Singapore. Her music blends of 80s grooves with electronic-infused pop hooks.

In 2004, Haneri burst onto the scene as the 3rd runner up on hit reality show, Singapore Idol. Since then, she has played prominent stages including Singapore Day in Melbourne; a solo ticketed concert at the Esplanade Recital Studio; and Mosaic Music Festival.

February 2006 saw Haneri fronting Singapore indie-rock outfit, West Grand Boulevard, at Singapore’s foremost indie music festival, Baybeats. West Grand Boulevard was nominated for “Best Breakout Band of the Year” at Power 98’s Singapore Music Awards, following the success of their debut album, “Waiting For You”. The album included hit singles “Fight” and “Backwards”, both of which were co-written by Haneri.

In late 2007, was Haneri’s debut solo album (released under the name Daphne Khoo) “Desperate” was released. The album scored her Best Breakout Solo Artist at Power 98’s Singapore Music Awards in 2008. Haneri wrote 10 of the 11 songs on the album, which she also co-produced and co-directed.

In 2012, she released two singles: “Rooftop” , and “Carry On”, which charted #4 on the International Charts on Singapore’s hit radio station 98.7fm.

Her latest EP, “Wonderland”, was released in January 2014. Its lead single, “Weak”, was featured in YouTube sensation’s Wong Fu Production’s short film ‘After Us’. The EP release saw Haneri embark on a 19-show Starbucks tour all across Singapore.

Haneri has also been making waves in the EDM scene, releasing “Louder” with Paul Van Dyk and Roger Shah in 2015. She also collaborated with a group of over 150 Swedish producers known as ‘Together’ for Avicii’s charity House for Hunger, releasing the track “Believe”. As a songwriter, Haneri co-wrote the single “Wave” that hit #1 on the K-Pop charts for a monster collaboration between the incredible R3hab as well as 2 members of f(x) Amber and Luna. Under the new name of Haneri, her new single “Burning Up” will be released world wide on June 2017, with much more music to follow.
