Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds consisted, when the ensemble was initially organized, of Daniel Robert “Dan” Hamilton, guitarist and lead singer, Joseph Francis “Joe Frank” Carollo, bassist and singer, and Thomas “Tommy” Reynolds, a multi-instrumentalist as well as a singer. All were former members of “The T-Bones.” That 1960s ensemble was noted for the instrumental chart selection “No Matter What Shape (Your Stomach’s In),” which in turn was based on music from a commercial for Alka-Seltzer, an over-the-counter antacid still being marketed as of December of 2021.
