Haiku d'Etat is the Project Blowed-born trio of Abstract Rude, Aceyalone, and Myka 9. While all three MC, Rude and Myka 9 additionally produce. Despite this, the trio often pulls production from elsewhere, including fellow Project Blowed DJs.
Haiku d'Etat’s name is a play on the French phrase, “Coup d'état,” meaning insurrection. The play combines subjects that the trio identifies with, such as rejection of unjust authority (coup d'état) poetic expression (the name, “Haiku d'Etat,” roughly is “Haiku State”).
Along with being members of L.A.’s Project Blowed collective, the trio work with each other respectively quite often: Abstract Rude and Aceyalone form the duo, The A-Team, and Aceyalone and Myka 9 form half of Freestyle Fellowship.
