George Demetriou, also known by his stage name Greek Genius, is a young independent artist from Kent, England.
At the age of 11, George discovered a passion for creating music after learning to play the piano in his school’s music class. Only weeks after, he built up the confidence to perform a short rendition of “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots in front of his entire primary school on the piano. With this performance, George confirmed to himself that he wanted to take up a career in playing music.
Since then, George learned to play an array of instruments; he pursued private lessons in drumming and taught himself, with the help of Youtube and musical notations, how to play the guitar and bass guitar from the comfort of his own room. Briefly, in 2020, George released a catalogue of 20 songs under his birth name, but he soon decided that these pieces of music were not true to his character and removed them from all platforms.
Later, in 2021, he spread the word to people in his secondary school and his social circle that he was soon to be releasing music under a new name, originating from an email account he created at the age of 13. The alias that he had uncovered and chosen to go by was “Greek Genius”, and his debut single was called “Okay”.
Now, George is in college studying music production and hopes to continue releasing his bedroom-made, self-produced musical compositions indefinitely…
