Genius seems to think otherwise, but this page is sadly the mashup between three completely unrelated groups: Girlfriend, a disbanded 1990’s Australian girl group, Girl Friend, a split up group, and Girlfriend, an artist from Memphis, Tennessee.
Girlfriend was an Australian pop girl group from 1991 to 1996, consisting of Jacqueline Cowell, Siobhánn Heidenreich, Melanie Alexander, Robyn Loau, and Lorinda Noble. Their debut album, Make It Come True, produced their first and only #1 hit, Take It From Me. They later released their second album, It’s Up To You, before changing their name to GF4 after Robyn Loau left, and later disbanded in 1996.
Not much is known about Girl Friend however, as they’ve tried to remove all their content from every platform, so currently, all that remains is reuploads of songs. The male singer from Girl Friend has a new band TONICA, and the female singer started her own solo career on Soundcloud.
The third Girlfriend is Kenya Edwards, an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. Kenya gives a better description for herself in their Genius bio.
