Born to British and German parents in St. Petersburg, Russia, George Sanders (1906-1972) frequently played debonair villains in films such as Rebecca, The Jungle Book, and All About Eve, for which he won an Oscar. He also recorded a pop album. Suffering from dementia and depression in his final years, he took his own life.
