Akihito Okano (岡野昭仁) is a Japanese musician and vocalist, best known as the lead vocalist and founder of the rock band Porno Graffitti (ポルノグラフィティ). Born on February 14, 1973, in Hiroshima, Japan, Okano showed a passion for music from a young age. In 1994, he formed Porno Graffitti along with guitarist Haruichi Shindo. The band quickly gained popularity with their energetic rock sound and Okano’s distinctive vocals.
Throughout their career, Porno Graffitti released numerous successful albums and singles, achieving chart-topping success in the Japanese music industry. Some of their notable hits include “Apollo,” “Melissa”, and “Music Hour.” Okano’s powerful and emotive singing style became a signature element of the band’s sound, capturing the hearts of fans across Japan.
Beyond his work with Porno Graffitti, Akihito Okano has also pursued solo projects and collaborations with other artists such as Hiroyuki Sawano and BREIMEN.
