Yukiko Okada was a Japanese Idol from 1983–1986. After winning Star Tanjō! she released four studio albums, worked as a radio personality and appeared in a number of commercials. Her debut single titled First Date was written by popular Japanese Pop icon Mariya Takeuchi who was hesitant, but was persuaded after talks with Yukiko. First Date would chart 20th on the Oricon charts with her follow up Little Princess charting 14th. Her following single Dreaming Girl-Koi, Hajimemashit becoming her first top 10 ranking at 7th. At the 26th Japan Record Awards she would win Rookie of the Year. Futari Dake no Ceremony would be her forth single being a significant milestone in her career. That single would reach 4th on the Oricon Weekly charts and appearing at 11th on the Oricon Monthly charts. For the remainder of her career her singles and projects would remain in the top 10. Her first number 1 single Ai… Illusion is another very notable hit as it appeared on her final album before her death. The single was written by Hiromoto Tobisawa and Seiko Matsuda.
