About Gaelynn Lea

Gaelynn Lea Tressler, professionally known as Gaelynn Lea, is an American folk singer, violinist, public speaker and disability advocate from Duluth, Minnesota. She is most known for her haunting ballad, “Someday We’ll Linger in the Sun”, which she used to win NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert in 2016.

Lea made her solo debut in 2015 with her album, “All the Roads That Lead Us Home”, which Tony Bennett from the Duluth News Tribune described as, “a focused, vibrant piece of music by a person who is able to take a solitary instrument and make it sound like a full string arrangement.”

The following year, in 2016, she released her EP, “The Songs We Sing Along the Way”, with popular songs “Watch the World Unfold”, and “Someday We’ll Linger In The Sun” as the centerpieces. The EP showcases Lea’s haunting voice and lyricism, as well as the use of her signature looping pedal.

Since then, Lea has released three albums, including “Learning How to Stay”, in 2018, and, “The Living Room Sessions: Gaelynn Lea Live”, as well as a holiday album and several more singles.
