The founder and frontman of the Guillemots, Fyfe Dangerfield is a British singer-songwriter who made his solo album debut in 2010 with Fly Yellow Moon.

Dangerfield is currently releasing his first solo material for a decade, The Birdwatcher EP, out on 05.03.21. This is the debut release on his label, Channels May Change Records, in association with The state51 Conspiracy, and is the first of a selection of goodies from the Channels “giant tub of stuff” that will be unveiled throughout the year.

Equally at ease tinkering on charity shop keyboards or scoring for symphony orchestras, Fyfe is perhaps best known for the four albums he released with the Guillemots, including 2006’s Mercury Prize-nominated ‘Through the Windowpane’.

In 2010 Fyfe took time out between Guillemots albums to produce his debut solo album Fly Yellow Moon (which reached No. 12), and the attendant Top 10 single, an understated cover of Billy Joel’s ‘She’s Always A Woman’, which featured on an award-winning TV advert for John Lewis. Fye has also been shortlisted for a BRIT and an NME Award.

Born Fyfe Antony Dangerfield Hutchins on July 7, 1980, he spent his first eight years in Birmingham, England, before moving to Bromsgrove. While living in Bromsgrove, he founded the band Senseless Prayer. After moving to London in 2002, Dangerfield founded the Guillemots, an indie rock band.
