Frank Takunda Chirisa is a Bulawayo based rapper known as Frixx.

BACKGROUND

He was born on the 23rd of June in 2000 at Mpilo Hospital.He is a born again Christian who goes to His Grace Ministries.He comes from a Shona Family but can speak Ndebele,English and French quite fluently.He attended his pre school at Footprints in Tshabalala from 2002 – 2005 then He went on to stay with his maternal grandparents in Chivhu.He then moved to Gweru to stay with his paternal grandparents where he did his grade 2 & 3 from 2006 -07 at Takunda Primary School .He was transferred to Mhali Primary School where he learnt from Grade 4 to Grade 7. He went to Milton Boys High in 2012 where he did his Form 1. In 2015 He finished his O Level and he was the Outstanding O Level Student with 7As 3Bs and 1C .He continued his A Level from 2016 – 2017 and became the 106th Deputy Headboy.

MUSICAL JOURNEY

He fell in love with music when he was very young.“My mother always told me that whenever I cried as a baby,she switched on the radio for me and I would smile to sleep”…he said .He grew up listening mostly to Ja Rule,Ashanti, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne,Drake,Xtra Large,Maskiri,Roki and Kanye West. In 2010 that’s when He fell inlove with Drake’s music amd decided that he could do it too. His hopes were raised when he won a music competition at school where he perfomed Iyaz’s Replay in the finals .It was when he was done with my Form 4 when he decided to try out the studio .“It was hard at first but with time I got used to it.I struggled a lot with getting my recording fees and my parents were anti music at that time since they believed Hiphop was affiliated with drugs and satanism” he said .In March 2016 He did his first digital song “Nightmares "at Excellence Music. This is where he met KoKo (then K'Dollar Wil_Fred) & Tawaz_Alpha (now Alpha).KoKo is the man who mentored him and moulded him into the man he is today . He went with the name Frixxlowd which he says was given to him by his friend Teezy.["My name Was Frixx(derived from Frank) so the name Frixxlowd came from McLan Mussa’s Song called "Perish Or Survive” where he said (“Them DC girls are taught by nuns but they all Freaks Lord”) and it was my friend Teezy who modified my name and was like your new name is Frixxlowd “] .He was the youngest artist to be featured on C-4’s Album called Orthodox in 2016 . He went on to push music and school simultaneously from 2016 – early 2017.

2017 – PRESENT

After finishing his A Level in November,He decided that He was now grown up and that his music was supposed to change its directon . He dropped the “Lowd” from “Frixxlowd” and Frixx was born. That’s when he was given his Alias (Dimple Bwoi) by KoKo . “I never deleted my old Frixxlowd account on Soundcloud as I always go back to it for reference” he told us. I have associated myself with the Excellence Music Records fam , Rap Soldiers, MC Troy etc .
