Fritz Löhner-Beda AKA Beda AKA Fritz Löhner, born as Bedřich Löwy, was an austrian writer of popular music. He wrote over 20 operettas and countless pop songs (Schlager), many of which are still well-known. As a jew, he was imprisoned when Austria joined Nazi Germany in 1938. He died 1942 as a forced labourer in Auschwitz, beaten to death by his overseers at IG Farben.
