About Friday Night Plans

Friday Night Plans (FNP) is a musical act comprised of singer-songwriter Masumi Yamamoto that first debuted in 2017. FNP is also referred to as a musical collective, due to how often Masumi collaborates with other artists, such as producer and drummer Tepppei.

Friday Night Plans has two albums, Embers and When I Get My Playground Back, which were both released in 2021. The musical act also has one EP, LOCATION – Los Angeles which was written during Masumi’s travels to California. FNP’s music has a wide range of influences, some of which include Justin Bieber, ODIE, and Dean.

Friday Night Plans gained considerable popularity after releasing a cover of Mariya Takeuchi’s 1984 song “Plastic Love,” which peaked at No. 30 on Japan’s Oricon music chart. “HONDA,” which was released in 2019, reached No. 46, and was used in Honda commercials aired in Japan.
