Fred Lee Scruggs Jr. (born 1971) is a member of multi-platinum rap group Onyx, record producer and actor.
In 1991 Jam Master Jay of Run–DMC signed Fredro Starr and his group on JMJ Records. It let them to release three top-selling albums on Def Jam: Bacdafucup (1993), All We Got Iz Us (1995) and Shut ‘Em Down (1998).
Fredro Starr made his acting debut in Forest Whitaker’s award-winning HBO drama Strapped. His feature film credits include Spike Lee’s Clockers, Sunset Park, Ride, Save the Last Dance, etc.
On television, Fredro Starr appeared in three episodes of HBO’s The Wire (as Marquis “Bird” Hilton) and filmed guest appearances on NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Blade: The Series, and CSI: Miami.
