Francis Thomas Avallone, born on September 18, 1940, and widely recognized as Frankie Avalon, is an American entertainer with a career spanning acting, singing, and a prominent role as a teenage heartthrob. Between 1958 and late 1962, he achieved chart success with 31 songs on the U.S. Billboard, including the chart-topping hits Venus and Why in 1959.
During the 1960s, Avalon ventured into the world of cinema, gaining fame for his appearances in the Beach party films of that era and securing a notable supporting role in the 1978 musical movie “Grease,” where he performed the memorable song Beauty School Dropout.
