Born in Austrian province Tyrol into a British-Irish musical family, Florence Arman learned to play the violin at the age of four and later taught herself the guitar and piano. She spent her childhood in Tyrol, then lived in England, Amsterdam and Leipzig before returning to Austria. Between 2017 and 2019 she used the pseudonym klei for her music before turning to her legal name.
