Fleming McWilliams and her brother Shawn grew up in East Prairie, MO. Fleming later moved to Nashville and met Miami native John Mark Painter; the two formed Fleming & John with Shawn on drums and Berklee graduate Stan Rawls on bass. The quartet signed with the R.E.X. label and released Delusions of Grandeur in 1991; subsequent efforts include 1998’s The Way We Are
