About Finch (USA)

Finch is a post-hardcore band from Temecula, California, formed in 1999.

In 2001, Finch released his first EP called Falling Into Place which catalogued the band as a punk-rock group, even if it wasn’t like that.

In 2002, they released their first LP called What It Is To Burn. The band gained a lot of musical success and recognition thanks to this album, and they proved that they were a post-hardcore and screamo group, instead of just a punk-rock one.

In 2005, they released Say Hello to Sunshine. It received mixed reviews due to the change on style from his previous album, and some fans were disappointed with these changes.

In February, 2006, the band announced an indefinite separation.

In November 23, 2007, they performed at Pomona, California and in January, 2008, they started a tour across all the United States.

In 2008, they released a self-titled EP containing 4 songs.

They separated again in December, 2010, trying to compose their third album, which was never released. Instead, they released a 2 song EP called Epilogue, which were the only 2 finished songs from that unfinished album.

In October, 2012, Finch announced that they would tour for the What It Is to Burn 10th anniversary with all the original lineup, only that the bassist would be replaced by Daniel Wonacott.

In 2014, the band was together again, and they would try to finally make their third album, which was Back to Oblivion.

After that, they finally broke their musical project, saying that they will no longer be together again as a band.

They released a free acoustic album from some of their songs called Steel, Wood and Whiskey in 2015.

In 2016, with their retirement due to another breakup, Nate Barcalow released a series of demos from their scrapped fourth album, and the rest of the members released 2 more demos called These Buildings Are Burning and Monuments and a b-side from Back to Oblivion named Black Roses
