Filip Filipi is a Canadian musician of Serbian origin. Filipi’s career in music began in his late teens, when a mixtape series entitled Sizzerb garnered underground buzz on the burgeoning Canadian rap scene. That career came to an abrupt end with Filipi’s sudden decision to leave music and focus fully on humanitarian work. For nearly a decade, he worked exclusively in philanthropy, managing to donate $7 million worth of humanitarian aid to the Western Balkans. In this time, he led his philanthropic organization, 28. Jun, to obtain consultative status with the United Nations, speaking at the UN numerous times in defense of vulnerable populations. He returns to music with debut LP Nine Roses through the Maison Filipi label, which is registered as a non-profit organization in order to allow Filipi to continue his legacy of activism and giving back to vulnerable communities around the globe.
