Brighton five-piece Fickle Friends are Natti Shiner, Sam Morris, Jack Harry, Christopher Hall, and Jack Wilson.
The band have cut their teeth the old fashioned way, with two years of solid touring, including sets at major festivals such as Bestival, BBC R1 Big Weekend, and Secret Garden Party, not to mention a sold-out show at Dingwalls in London in November 2015. All the long drives and late nights have paid off, forging Fickle Friends into a polished live band.
This hard work also helped catch the attention of Polydor Records, who signed the band in January 2016. Their debut album, You Are Someone Else, was released on March 16, 2018. You Are Someone Else (Versions) followed on June 14, including a feature from Amber Run.
FF had planned to take 2019 off to write their second album, but when the COVID pandemic disrupted these plans, instead the band chose to release two shorter EP’s cleverly named as the Weird Years. Natti revealed Weird Years (Season 1) covers
everything from waking up and feeling horrendous, to being stuck in lockdown and feeling anxious, to being heartbroken. There’s a lot in there that I think people will relate to.
Weird Years (Season 1) was released January 15, 2021, subsequently Season 2 released on May 17, 2021.
Are We Gonna Be Alright? followed on January 14, 2022. Natti explains thats AWGBA allowed the band to have “more grit”, and the “emotional whirlwind that was the last two years shines through”. Natti also explains that because more freedom was allowed to the band during the production, AWGBA is “so special. Its truly ours.”
