Fathy Salama (born 27 March 1969), is a Grammy Award-winning Egyptian composer and producer, he is known to be a pioneer in the Oriental Jazz scene in Egypt.
He has collaborated with international musicians and produced hits in the 80s for the biggest names in the Arab world like Amr Diab & Mohamed Mounir.
In 2005, he has won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary World Music Album and BBC Award for Egypt album released in 2004 with Senegalese musician Youssou N'Dour.
He also has won multiple awards like the Best Original Score from Cairo International Festival 2000 for the Egyptian movie “Fallen Angels Paradise” (جنة الشياطين) and the short film “Signs of April” (علامات أبريل).
He founded an Oriental Jazz group named “Sharkiat” (Easterners).
