Farside was a melodic hardcore / hardcore punk band formed in Orange County, California, in 1989. The group released three full-length albums — ‘Rochambeau’ (1992), ‘Rigged’ (1994), and ‘The Monroe Doctrine’ (1999) — before disbanding in 2000. They currently have no plans to reunite for more albums or shows.
Their last formation consisted of Michael “Popeye” Vogelsang (vocals, guitar), Bob Beshear (drums), Kevin Murphy (guitar, vocals), and Sean Rosenthal (bass). Former members include Zack de la Rocha on guitar from 1990-1991; he would go on to sing lead vocals for famous political rap metal band Rage Against the Machine. Other members include Robert Haworth (guitar), Josh Stanton (bass), and longtime bassist Bryan Chu, who was in the band from 1990 to 1999 and played on all releases.
