Benjamin Asare aka ESO.ES connects different worlds seemingly without effort and naturally lives interculturality. Growing up in a deprived area of Hamburg he’s exposed to various cultural traditions, to the African imprint of his father from Ghana and the artistic orientation of his mother’s family from Hamburg at the same time. Asare refuses to tie himself down. He feels comfortable being in the space between and impersonates both sides simultaneously. “I want it all of it”, says Asare while drawing from everything he discovers and is attracted to. In doing so, something new and fresh is taking shape, something of significance; a bodacious identity.
