Esco ‘Big’ Bars

Jade Defoe (born 1982/1983), half-brother of Jermain Defoe and well known throughout the grime scene as Esco Big Bars or simply just Esco. He hailed from Leytonstone, London and was a part of the Slew Dem grime collective alongside Chronik and Tempa T.

Esco started MCing around the early 2000s, where he gained a reputation in the grime community as a technically skilled MC who shone through sets such as this and this.

Jade Defoe was murdered in late April 2009, and will be deeply missed.
