Erika María Ender Simoes, more commonly known by her stage name Erika Ender, is a Panamanian singer, songwriter and actress. Ender, in addition to having a respectable singing career being the first Panamanian woman to win a Latin Grammy award, is considered one of the largest and most prolific composers in the Latin music market today. She is widely known for writing worldwide hit “Despacito” for Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
As a singer, she has released 5 albums in a variety of genres such as pop, rock, tropical and country. Her musical versatility has made it possible for stars such as Daddy Yankee, Chayanne, Gloria Trevi, Ednita Nazario, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Ana Bárbara, Víctor Manuelle, Los Horóscopos de Durango, Milly Quezada, Elvis Crespo, Giselle, Melina León, Ha*Ash, Luis Enrique, Luis Fonsi, Malú, Jaci Velásquez o Azúcar Moreno, to flourish in the Latin music industry as well.
Her successful career as a songwriter includes the albums: Ábreme la Puerta, Cueste lo Que Cuesto and En Concierto. Topping the Billboard charts with hit singles “Cheque al Portador,” “Ábreme la puerta” (both from 2004), “Luna Nueva” (2006), “Masoquista” (2009), “¿Quién Me Escucha?,” “Quién Sale No Entra” (2006), “Cade?” and “Sigo Caminando” premiered at the 2012 Idol Puerto Rico Final, among others, have led her to perform in multiple countries where she has shared her music, talent and charisma.
