Copenhagen-based producer and vocalist Erika de Casier jumped out onto the scene with the release of her esteemed debut album, Essentials, in 2019.
Prior to her solo project, de Casier had been involved in Denmark’s electronic music scene, collaborating with the Regelbau collective to create several house and garage tracks.
Having grown up during the later years of the MTV generation, she was strongly influenced by the R&B sound, citing Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, and Destiny’s Child as some of her musical influences. Her solo venture is evident of this, with Dummy Magazine writing:
There’s an indisputable amount of ’90s and early noughties influences coursing through the veins of de Casier’s debut album, ‘Essentials’.
An emerging proponent of a deeply nostalgic and endearing sound, Erika de Casier has us waiting on the edge of our seats for her next musical project.
