About Enter Shikari

Enter Shikari are a four-piece rock band from St. Albans, UK. They are generally known for their genre-bending music and ferocious live shows. They are made up of front man Roughton “Rou” Reynolds, bassist Chris Batten, drummer Rob Rolfe and guitarist Liam “Rory” Clewlow.

The bands sound has evolved dramatically over the course of their studio albums. Whilst still a rock band at their core, they constantly experiment with new sound. They have incorporated several sub genres of rock into their sound, such as: post-hardcore, electronicore, alt rock, metalcore and others. They don’t stop there though, extending into numerous other styles consisting of electronica ranging from trance to dubstep to drum and bass as well as messing around with different vocals styles too. Or as the band puts it themselves “We are Enter Shikari, we’ve been abusing music genres' worthless boundaries since 2003.”

Lyrically, they tend to focus of issues centered around social, economic and political issues. They are constantly critiquing the state of the world with unrelenting aggression, touching on problems like war, corruption, exploitation, hypocrisy, tyranny. However lately as seen in The Mindsweep (2015) they have been taking a more optimistic approach, splitting the album between the usual critique and optimism for the future, citing environmental activism and scientific progression as a focus.

Now on their seventh studio album, A Kiss For The Whole World, releasing on April 21, 2023.
