Enrique Granados Campiña (1867-1916) studied piano in Barcelona and Paris from an early age. He is best known for the piano suite Goyescas and the opera by the same name, which was inspired by the piano music’s success. He, his wife, and some 80 other passengers were killed when a German U-boat torpedoed the SS Sussex traveling from England to France.
