Emily Jean “Emma” Stone (born November 6, 1988) is an American actress. Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, she moved to Los Angeles in her teens to pursue an acting career. After some TV appearances (including episodes of Medium, Malcolm in the Middle and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody), she made her feature film debut with the main female role in 2007’s Superbad. Her career really broke out with Zombieland (2009), Easy A (2010) and Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011, the first of three movies she did as Ryan Gosling’s love interest). Trying to break away from just comedies, she appeared in The Help (2011), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its sequel (2014) and Gangster Squad (2013). Stone earned many award nominations for her supporting turn in 2014’s Birdman, which in turn were followed by a lauded performance in 2016’s La La Land, which granted her the Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG.
