With a spirit spanning continents and genres, Elias Abid is a 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Paris, France currently residing in Chicago, Illinois. Recognized for his production for Smino, Appleby, and other emerging talents, Elias will henceforth release music as an independent artist. His debut single, “Wayside,” signifies a new beginning for creative exploration and for artistic freedom.
As a child, Elias was exposed to the divergent cultures of Europe and the United States, as he would frequently travel to and from France and Missouri. At the young age of 12, Elias began to indulge in his musical interests playing guitar alongside his lifelong friend Quinn Cochran, of music duo Iris Temple. By the time he turned 16 years old, he had already produced, recorded, and DJed for much of Kansas City’s rising artists.
He later set his foundation in Chicago where he attended Columbia College and began working as Stefan Ponce’s production assistant. Working alongside the Grammy-nominated producer lead Elias to collaborate with artists such as KYLE, Monte Booker, and Smino.
Today, Elias has cataloged over five million streams and has gained wide exposure with sync placements. Placements include Appleby’s “Pages,” premiered on ABC’s sitcom grown-ish and “Young Lost Love,” featured in the documentary America To Me which premiered at Sundance, the largest independent film festival, and was later bought by Starz.
