Eefje de Visser (Voorburg, 8 February 1986) is a Dutch indie pop singer/songwriter. She grew up in the small South Holland village of Moordrecht. She became interested in music early, writing her first song at the age of 11 and performing in a number of bands during her school years. Her big break came in 2009 when she entered the Grote Prijs van Nederland, the country’s largest and longest-running music competition for new talent. She released her first album, De Koek (The Cake), in 2011, a breakthrough year in which she performed (accompanied by a four-man band called Most Unpleasant Men) at three major Dutch festivals: Lowlands, the Oerol Festival and the Uitmarkt. Her second album Het Is (It Is) was released in August 2013. The next year she had her breakthrough in Belgium gaining a lot of airplay on several national radio stations. After two-and-a-half years of touring she released her third album Nachtlicht (Night Light) in January 2016.
