Whether he is riding the Q train home, waiting in line to get his morning bagel, or running to class, music surrounds every moment of Edward’s life. The rumble of New York City matches his natural instincts to be woken up and then rocked to sleep by drums and bass. At 19 years old, Ed is a bedroom producer currently studying at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His experience growing up in the city that never sleeps translates to the energy and enthusiasm for life found in each of his productions.
He taught himself how to use the Garageband stock instruments and synths to make his own songs using only YouTube tutorials starting at age seven. He’s come a long way since then. In 2018, he released his first single under the moniker Eddie Beatss with his friend and frequent collaborator, Zhané, eventually releasing his first collaborative album called Theory.
In November of 2020, Ed from New York was born with his premier single, “SUPERNOVA.”
Though he has hopes for his music to reach the ears of many people worldwide, at the end of the day, he will always just be Ed from New York.
