Sofia Hultquist, professionally known as Drum & Lace, was born and raised in Florence, Italy. Hultquist received an Undergraduate Degree in Film Scoring and Composition from Berklee College of Music, along with a Master’s Degree in Music Technology and Composition from New York University.

Hultquist often collaborates with her husband, Ian Hultquist. They have collaborated on the soundtracks for At The Heart Of Gold, Dickinson, Good Girls, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Night Teeth, Look Both Ways, Rosaline and Radical Landscapes.
