The Drive-By Truckers are a Southern rock band based in Athens, Georgia. One of the most-listened-to and most-awarded groups in their genre, the Truckers have consisted of a shifting lineup built around permanent members Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley, two friends from The Shoals region of Alabama.

Many of their most popular and enduring hits were written while Jason Isbell (2001–2007) and his ex-wife Shonna Tucker (2003–2011) were bandmembers before Isbell’s alcoholism led to his dismissal from the band.
