Bibhas Bhattacharjee, mostly known by his stage name Double B, is the founder of BAND-de-TRICKS, an underground HipHop crew of Bangladesh. Along with the career as an HipHop artis, Bibhas also started producing RnB and fusion tracks featuring young artists around the country, near 2012. His productions mostly follows the trend of hiphop-RnB crossovers, yet keeping the flavor of modern Bangladeshi classics. Bibhas is one of the few producers in the world who fused this crossover flavor on legendary Tagore songs.
Most of his productions holds a similar flavor of DJ Mustard productions, especially the use of synth bass patterns on loops. Also, a signature ‘Double B on the beat, Yup!’ voice sample on the tracks confirms the similarity even more. This might be because, as he stated, DJ Mustard is his inspiration.
Bibhas had his institutional degree on Indian Raga music for 5 years before he started his career on HipHop. This is the reason that, being an artist on a totally different genre, Bibhas still keeps his practice on the root music of the subcontinent.
Though the productions are mainly done on DAWs, Bibhas plays various instruments like Piano, Harmonium, Ukuele, Harmonica, Tabla etc., some ability rarely seen in HipHop artists this time.
The main goal of Bibhas, as he speaks, is to intermingle genres of different places and different ages yet keeping the final output simple, so that the listeners can identify the contents of the mix without searching deep for it.
