About Don Walker

Donald Hugh Walker (b.1951) is considered one of Australia’s greatest ever songwriters. Inducted into the Australian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and known for his deep, piercing observations of Australian life from King’s Cross alleyways to international stardom, Walker’s unique voice and stories have entertained for almost five decades.

Responsible for writing a large share of Cold Chisel’s frenetic and varied output, Walker has written songs that most Australians can recite part of without a second thought, lyrics that have become a cultural marker of the 70s and 80s. Walker has also worked with a who’s who of Australian music over the last forty years, and contributed in writing, arranging and producing music from hard rock to acoustic ballads.

Despite being a Brisbane Broncos fan, Walker’s contribution to Australian culture will long shine bright.
